Fast Interpretation of Pen Gestures with Competent Agents
نویسنده
چکیده
Modeling the interpretation process of gestures generated by digital pen traces with a specialised agential architecture provides access to many advantages not normally available in routine programming methodologies. While speed of interpretation is an obvious plus point for the overall system performance, accurate and competent percept of the sketching environment provided by three autonomously self-learning agents allows for their seamless integration into elaborate applications without affecting the main program flow. This paper focuses on the techniques used to decipher ink traces by utilising ‘Ink’, ‘Gesture’, and ‘Decision’ agents in an ambient learning environment. Expediting the responses for interaction between users and synthetic hardware systems is expected to have an improved effect on user-interface (UI) supports for natural communications.

Joint interpretation of input speech and pen gestures for multimodal human-computer interaction
This paper describes out initial work in semantic interpretation of multimodal user input that consist of speech and pen gestures. We have designed and collected a multimodal corpus of over a thousand navigational inquiries around the Beijing area. We devised a processing sequence for extracting spoken references from the speech input (perfect transcripts) and interpreting each reference by gen...
متن کاملSloppy selection: Providing an accurate interpretation of imprecise selection gestures
This paper describes on-going work in the analysis of motion dynamics in pen-based interaction. The overall goal is the creation of a model of user motion in pen gestures where constraint and curvature vary over the length of the path. In particular, speed/curvature models of motion are used to analyze pen trajectories and infer target constraints obeyed by a user performing selection gestures....
متن کاملComparison of Plantar Dynamics During Four Sports Gestures in Rugby Players
Background. Four of the most relevant gestures in rugby (RU) are the pass, the tackle, the line out, and the scrum. RU is the third most common contact sport on the planet, and being a fast-paced collision game and carries a high risk of injury. Objectives. To describe and compare plantar dynamics during four sports gestures in rugby players through speed, strength, and balance. Methods. Twen...
متن کاملHand Gestures Classification with Multi-Core DTW
Classifications of several gesture types are very helpful in several applications. This paper tries to address fast classifications of hand gestures using DTW over multi-core simple processors. We presented a methodology to distribute templates over multi-cores and then allow parallel execution of the classification. The results were presented to voting algorithm in which the majority vote was ...
متن کاملquill: A Gesture Design Tool for Pen-based User Interfaces
Pen-based user interfaces are becoming more prevalent. Gestures are a powerful and convenient way to interact using a pen, but are difficult to design well. This paper describes the first intelligent gesture design tool, quill, which assists designers in creating and improving gestures for pen-based interfaces, both in terms of computer recognizability and likelihood of confusion among gestures...
